Peer reviews are a significant part of our practice. We audit the CPA auditor. Our firm reflects the tradition of meeting the highest standards of performing peer reviews. We have extensive experience in conducting caring, educational, and remedial peer reviews for all-sized accounting firms. We perform positive, educational, and relationship-building professional peer reviews. Our commitment to quality is evident in our lengthy record of excellent peer review reports and 20+ years of experience in the peer review field.

We have performed numerous peer reviews in several states in the Midwest. We are in good standing with peer review committees. At Reed & Co. of Mayfield, PSC, we understand the particular challenges and opportunities of a local firm. Our goal is to provide our Peer Review clients with a peer review that enhances the firm’s quality control and overall practice success. We conduct both Engagement Reviews and System Reviews. The type of services performed by a firm will determine what type of peer review is required.

If either of the services below is the firm’s highest level of service, an Engagement Review is required.

  • Services under Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services (SSARSs)
  • Services under the SSAEs not listed above in System Reviews.

Engagement reviews should improve the quality of engagements and should protect the public that uses and relies on those reports without imposing any additional burden on reviewed firms.

If either of the services below is the firm’s highest level of service, a System Review is required.

  • Engagements under the Statements on Auditing Standards (SASs) or Government Auditing Standards (GAS)
  • Examinations under the Statements on Standards for Attestation Engagements (SSAEs), or Engagements under PCAOB standards

In a system review, the reviewer will study and evaluate a CPA firm's quality control policies and procedures that were in effect during the peer review year. The system review is an on-site visit and includes interviewing firm personnel and examining administrative files.

Annual Inspections are also available to Peer Review Clients as an additional service.
